As Westchester High School becomes the Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets, LAUSD remains committed to those students who live within the communities traditionally served by WHS. Accordingly, the District has made the following committment:
Eligible students who reside within the attendance boundary of (or matriculated from) the following schools, may enroll in Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets High School, provided a Choices application is filled out and submitted by the annual deadline.
- Cowan Avenue Elementary and Gifted/High Ability Magnet
- Kentwood Elementary
- Loyola Village Elementary and Performing Arts Magnet
- Open Charter Magnet
- Paseo del Rey Natural Science Magnet
- Westport Heights Elementary
- Central Region Elementary #22
- Wright Middle School and Math/Science/Aerospace Magnet
The demographics of these residential areas have been reviewed by the Master Planning and Demographics department of LAUSD, and the District believes that these areas provide an opportunity for further student integration at the new Westchester Magnets High School.
Students residing outside of the above school’s attendance boundaries but within the boundaries of LAUSD will have an opportunity to attend the Westchester Magnets High School provided a Choices application is submitted on their behalf and there is still space available.
