Items Prohibited at Prom


The following items are prohibited at the venue and will be confiscated:



gum and open mints containers

all tobacco products

wallet chains


any illegal substance canes & zoot chains

pens and markers

medication (given to teacher)

sharp objects

water bottles

eye drops (test or toss)

lighters / matches

glow in the dark items

containers w/ a screw-on cap or lid including perfume/cologne bottles.

any item/s that can be used as a weapon (ie: certain keychains-not all keychains).


The following items will not be confiscated


 lip liners,


new sealed mints or gum,

feminine products, or condoms.

lanyards or earphones/earbuds.


2018 Senior Prom

Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets Class of 2018 Presents


The Wallis Annenberg Building

Located at 700 Exposition Park Drive (near the Science Center and the Rose Garden)

Prom is from 7 pm -12 am May 26th (Doors close at 9 pm)

"After Prom" is not a school sponsored activity and has no affiliation with Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets.

Guest passes will be distributed to those who have purchased two tickets after the final day of ticket sales.


FYI: Tickets will be distributed on May 25th at the end of the day.  All seniors must be PRESENT AT SCHOOL ALL DAY on May 25th to pick-up their tickets.  Without a ticket students will not be allowed into the venue.

2018 Graduation

June 7, 2018

6 PM WESM Football Field

Every Senior will be provided with 10 tickets. (No extra tickets can be requested).

Seniors will pick up tickets along with their cap and gown on June 7th after graduation practice.

Cap and Gown is provided by the district and must be returned to pick up your diploma on Friday, June 8th from 9-11 am.

If you would like to purchase the Cap and Gown to keep it costs $10.83 and can be purchased at the student store.

Senior Contract Info



  1. I will turn in a signed Senior Contract by August 31, 2017. If I fail to do so, I understand that I will not be allowed to participate in ANY senior activity.
  2. For each “U” that I receive in COOPERATION on every ten week grading period, I will be required to complete 2 additional hours of community service per “U.”
  3. I will adhere to ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS that apply to senior activities BOTH on and off campus.
  4. I will adhere to all consequences determined by the Discipline Committee that result from violation of any rules and regulations including the uniform/dress code policy of WESM or LAUSD.
  5. I will clear ANY and ALL absences/tardies within ten days before purchasing tickets for or participating in senior activities.
  6. I will clear ANY and ALL detentions and delinquencies every fifteen week period during each semester before purchasing tickets for or participating in senior activities.
  7. I will maintain a GPA of at least 2.0. If I fail to do so, I understand I will not be allowed to participate in ANY senior activity.
  8. I will have no more than 7 absences during my senior year. (In cases of special circumstances, specific exceptions may be made by administrative staff.)
  9. I understand that participation in any major disciplinary incident (including, but not limited to: fighting and possession/use of restricted substances, habitual referrals to the Intervention Office) may result in my exclusion from participation in any or all senior activities.
  10. I understand that I must complete Sections 1-3 of my Senior Portfolio by the designated deadlines in order to participate in senior activities. (Access to you Senior Portfolio Guidelines is available on WESM’s website)
  11. All payments for senior dues are NONREFUNDABLE.




  1. I will settle all outstanding debts, including detention, textbooks, and any delinquencies before I pick up my cap and gown.
  2. I will complete the entire Senior Portfolio in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
  3. I will meet attendance, conduct, graduation, and academic requirements, WESM and LAUSD policies.
  4. I will dress appropriately and according to the guidelines set forth by the graduation committee.
  1. Ladies: Attire that is too short or revealing is unacceptable. No denim or tennis shoes.
  2. Gentlemen: Long trousers, long sleeve, collared shirts w/tie. No denim or tennis shoes.
  1. I will NOT DISRUPT the graduation ceremony. I will remain seated and be courteous.
  2. I will NOT participate in any activities before, during, or after the ceremony which may be detrimental to the school, other students, or me, including senior pranks.
  3. I will NOT alter my cap and gown in any manner. The only exception will be for students who wish to decorate the top of their cap with the emblem of the college/university that they will attend. Designs must be approved in advance by the senior class sponsor.
  4. I will attend all mandatory graduation practices and behave appropriately. I understand that I am required to attend the ENTIRE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE AND THAT LEAVING EARLY IS NOT ALLOWED.
  1. I acknowledge that participation in the commencement exercise is a privilege.
