Science Department

Science Teachers of Westchester Enriched Sciences Magnets are diverse, talented and dedicated educators who work relentlessly to bring best science education experience to the students.  Currently, the science department offers classes for Biology, Honors Biology, AP Biology, Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics and AP Environmental Science.   In addition, science teachers also serve as Boys Baseball-Varsity Assistant Coach, Boys Baseball JV Head Coach, Girls Soccer Coach, MESA Coach, Science Bowl Coach, Robotics Club Coach, Rocket Club Sponsor, Key Club Sponsor, GATE Coordinator and Sophomore Class Sponsor; in recent past, science teachers have served also as Freshman Class Sponsor and Aca Deca Coach.

 

Starting in the 2013-2014 school year, the Science Department will be partnering with the linked learning program. This program will connect the curriculum between all student courses in the Health and Sports Medicine and Environmental Natural Sciences Magnets. Along with linked learning, the common core standards will be implemented this year. These standards will focus on preparing our students for the necessary skills required to thrive in the current 21st century workforce.
